Decks
Landscape - Pool decking
Decks come in many forms, from those attached to housing, pool or water feature surrounds, to elevated viewing platforms. Hardwood and Cypress timbers are chosen because of their ability to blend into the environment, durability and workability.

Except for the supporting structure, native timber decks are usually clear of the ground but are exposed to the weather. Detailing and specifying for appropriate durability is paramount. Refer to Hardwood & Cypress Timber Technical Guide for details on how to design for durability.

Designs are similar for commercial and domestic decking depending on the intended loads. For design information refer to the following Hardwood & Cypress Application Guides: Domestic Deck Structures, Non-Domestic Decks, Boardwalks & Light Vehicular Traffic Structures and Stairs, Handrails and Balustrades.
