Fences
Fences come in many forms including the traditional paling, lapped and capped, board and batten, picket and other varieties including vertical board, horizontal board, angled and herringbone board, post and rail and picket.

Most rely on a structural frame of posts embedded into the ground or footing, and two or more rails spanning between the posts.

The selection of a suitable fence type or style is determined by application and aesthetics. They can be used to define the property, provide security, privacy, safety, or to contain animals on farms. Specification for durability is required, with particular focus on the posts, given their exposure to high moisture and insect attack risk.
